This section pertains to information that is needed on specific veterans of the 43d, places or campains.  They are either needed by me to help with my research, or they are requests from people that I have been in contact with who need help locating some information.  If  you know any of these vets, or have any information on them, please  E-mail me by clicking here. Please remember, I am always looking for copies of diaries, journals, photos, etc. for my book research; and also for this web-page.

Abbreviations:  M.I.A - Missing in action W.I.A - Wounded in action K.I.A - Killed in action

Marvin Vojech - 172nd Infantry.  Fought at Ipo Dam and went on to Japanese occupation.

Lester Boldt - 172nd Infantry.  Company H - from Iowa.  W.I.A on Munda - 1 August, 1943

Tech 5th Grade - Charles Stejskal - 172nd Infantry.  Spelled "Stefakal" in Casualty List.            From Iowa.  K.I.A- 24 Jan. 1945  -   Rosario, Luzon.

Cpl - Virgil Deaver - 172nd Infantry.  From Kansas.  K.I.A - in Jan, 1945  -  Luzon

Cpl - Joeseph J. Mangan - 169th Infantry. Company M - from Conn.  W.I.A - 14 July, 1943          on Seven Day Hill, Munda

Tech 5th Grade - Walter Thiede - 169th Infantry.  Company M - from Conn.  Volunteered             to go with 31st Division, Company I, 124th Infantry on or after New Guinea.

Pvt - James Bigger - 103rd Infantry.  Company B - from Oregon.  K.I.A - 29 March, 1945            near Boso Boso, Antipolo

Cpl. William Cain - USMC  1st Raider Battalion.  K.I.A - 10 July, 1943                                                                        Dragons Peninsula, New Georgia

Does anyone have a copy of this booklet? It is called the "Connecticut Veterans Commemorative Booklet" and was published by the office of the Governor in October of 1945.  It measures 5 1/2" X 7 1/2" and is 20 pages long.  I have this booklet, but it is missing pages #11 and #12.  If anyone has a copy, I would apprecieate a copy of those two missing pages. Also, did any onther state, VT, RI or Maine publish such a book for their states?  If so, I would like to obtain a copy.  Thanks,  Dutch.
